Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a clinically proven skin rejuvenation treatment designed to improve the overall appearance, texture, and health of your skin. It is a minimally invasive procedure that stimulates your body’s natural healing processes to promote smoother, firmer, and more radiant skin.

The Treatment

Microneedling uses a specialised medical device with very fine, sterile needles to create controlled micro-channels in the surface of the skin. These tiny, precise micro-needles trigger the skin’s natural repair response, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin — the essential proteins responsible for maintaining skin strength, elasticity, and youthful appearance.

As the skin heals, it becomes firmer, smoother, and more even in tone and texture. Microneedling is an effective treatment for a wide range of skin concerns, including;

  • fine lines and wrinkles

  • uneven skin tone and pigmentation

  • enlarged pores

  • sun-damaged skin

  • dull or tired-looking skin

  • stretch marks and loss of skin firmness and elasticity

Expectations

Initial consultation required.

Duration of Treatment: The procedure typically takes between 30 and 60 minutes, depending on the treatment area and your individual treatment plan. This includes time for skin preparation and numbing.

Aftercare: After microneedling, you should avoid the following for 24 to 48 hours; makeup, excessive sweating or exercise, saunas and steam rooms, sun exposure, active skincare products (such as retinol or acids). You will be provided with full aftercare instructions.

Estimated Duration of Results: Some improvement may be visible within 1 to 2 weeks as the skin begins to heal. However, collagen production continues over time, and the best results are typically seen after 4 to 6 weeks.

A course of further treatments is usually recommended for optimal results.

  • Most clients find microneedling very tolerable. A topical numbing cream is applied before treatment to minimise discomfort. You may feel mild pressure or a light scratching sensation during the procedure.

    • Stimulates natural collagen and elastin production

    • Improves skin texture and smoothness

    • Enhances skin firmness and elasticity

    • Reduces the appearance of scars and fine lines

    • Improves overall skin tone and radiance

    • Minimal downtime compared to more invasive procedures

  • This depends on your skin concerns and goals. Typically:

    • Skin rejuvenation: 3–6 treatments

    • Acne scarring or deeper concerns: 4–6 treatments or more

    Treatments are usually spaced 4–6 weeks apart.

  • Downtime is usually minimal. You may experience:

    • Redness similar to mild sunburn for 24–48 hours

    • Mild swelling or sensitivity

    • Slight dryness or flaking as the skin heals

    Most clients can return to normal activities the following day.
